Howard Street Development Now Open!
We’re excited to share the latest on the Howard Street development at Sheffield Hallam University. Three new buildings – Strines, Langsett, and Redmires, named after the reservoirs that supply Sheffield’s water – are now open, offering state-of-the-art facilities for the Institute of Technology, Sheffield Business School, and the College of Social Sciences and Arts. The newly opened Hallam Green, a vibrant public space connecting the buildings, provides a welcoming and relaxing spot for staff, students, and visitors.
These developments are part of our ongoing commitment to creating an inspiring and environmentally sustainable campus, and we look forward to welcoming you to these new spaces when you’re next able to visit us!
Strines is where you’ll find our new Institute of Technology – a cutting-edge learning space for manufacturing, engineering, construction, and creative and digital disciplines. You can watch a drone fly-through tour below.
Annual Report Submission
The deadline to submit your annual report is the 1st November 2025, unless otherwise agreed. If you have any questions or concerns, please do let us know.
Help Shape Next Year’s Partner Conference!
Our next UK Partner Conference will take place on Thursday 9 July 2026, and planning is already well underway. We’d love your input to help shape the day’s content so it’s tailored to you – our UK partners.
Do you have ideas for topics or sessions you’d like to see? Or are you interested in sharing your expertise as a guest speaker? Perhaps you’ve seen success with an initiative at your institution and want to share best practices?

We’d love to hear from you! Please email your suggestions or expressions of interest to: ukpartnerships@shu.ac.uk
New Contact Details for Student Records & Assessment Teams
Our Student Records and Assessment teams have recently undergone a structural change, which means their contact details have been updated. To help you find the right person for your query, whether it’s about enrolment, graduation, transcripts, or anything in between, we’ve created a dedicated page on our website.
Visit the new page & bookmark for future reference to reach out to the appropriate team for any support you need.
Expert Workshops
Over the past year, we’ve delivered a series of expert-led workshops for our UK partners, covering key topics such as university assessment regulations, Access and Participation Plans, and OfS Condition E6. These sessions have created opportunities for staff to connect, share best practice, voice concerns, and support each other with challenges being faced in the sector.
Resources from these sessions are available on request, just get in touch with us by email. If you have suggestions for future workshop themes, we’d love to hear them.
Our Student Offer
We’re proud to have developed our student offer to partner students and make it even clearer what students studying a SHU award at our partner institutions can access. As part of the Hallam community, students at our partners can access a variety of services and resources, as set out on our Educational Partnerships Hub.
To support the promotion of Hallam’s student offer at your own institution, a new infographic is available for download. We encourage you to share this with students, along with the link to our student webpages, as part of their induction.
A new addition to the Student Offer:
If a student has committed academic misconduct, we encourage you to refer them to our Mini Modules for Academic Integrity Resource. This resource is designed to help students better understand academic integrity and apply it in their studies.

UCNL Chamber Challenge: Students Secure Funding for Health Projects
On 9th September, UCNL’s Chamber hosted The Chamber Challenge, where DN Colleges’ Health & Social Care students pitched innovative health promotion ideas to a panel of judges. Congratulations to the four students who secured funding and expert support to develop their projects by impressing the panel with their creativity and innovation!
