Staff Personal Training and Development

Continual professional development, training and knowledge exchange are recognised as one of the major benefits for staff, at both SHU and Partner organisations. Therefore, peer to peer knowledge exchange events, CPD conferences, community of interest forums and the annual conference are built into the partner relationship. Go to Staff Development to see more.

Awards – Inspirational Student & Inspirational Teacher

Each year staff and students at partner organisations are invited to nominate inspirational people in their organisations. A senior panel of judges review the submissions, with winner and partner VIPs invited to the end of year award ceremony.

Inspirational Student Awards

The Inspirational Student Awards are a way to recognise our amazing students studying a SHU award at our UK partners, who have made a real difference to their fellow students, staff, local community, and beyond. It is to celebrate those who have overcome adversity, inspired us, and made a real difference whilst being a student.

Find out more about this year awards & view photos from the 2024 Inspirational Students Awards Dinner here.

Inspirational Teaching Awards

We have been delighted to announce 11 winners and 3 commendations in the inaugural 2023/24 year of the UK Partner Inspirational Teaching Awards.

Students studying a SHU award across all of our UK partners were given the opportunity to nominate a member of teaching staff who has had a transformational impact on them during their studies. Please see below a list of the those selected by the university panel to receive an award or commendation for 23/24.

These awards recognise the dedication of staff in ensuring students have the best possible learning experience. To receive an award is testament to the hard work and exceptional contributions of these teaching staff to their student’s higher education journey.
