A key part of the relationship between SHU and partners staff is the recognition that we are all experts in our different fields. Therefore, the sharing of knowledge, experience, expertise and training, both by SHU and partner staff, is open to all. Below are a range of personal development and training resources split into 3 tiers, some can be accessed directly, others might require signing into. Please follow the links to see what is needed to gain access.

Tier 2: Expert presentations, Communities of Practice and conferences
Communities of Practice
Where the university is able to franchise awards to multiple partners, we are keen to promote communities of practice (CoP). These CoP’s are a safe space in which questions can be asked and good practice shared. Support for each other is what makes these communities so valuable. They tend to have rolling agendas which cover topics such as: course updates; student recruitment; assessment regulations and standardisation; policy updates.
A great example of this is our FdSc Assistant Practitioner (Health and Social Care) course that meets at regular intervals throughout the year.
