The Hallam Award is here to recognise all the extra things you do outside of your studies. This might include a part-time job, voluntary work, being a student/course rep, caring responsibilities, playing sports, or any other interests you may have.

Team Hallam is the home of club and performance sport at Sheffield Hallam University. We have 40 student-run sports clubs and enter over 65 teams into the British Universities and Colleges Sport (BUCS) league programme.

This initiative provides support for applicants whose personal circumstances might mean that there are barriers to going to university. It provides support in the year of application, including your transition to becoming a student at SHU. Find out more.

Inspirational Student Awards 2024

The Inspirational Student Awards recognise our amazing students studying a SHU award at our UK partners, who have made a real difference to their fellow students, staff, local community, and beyond. The awards celebrate those who have overcome adversity, inspired us, and made a real difference whilst being a student.

Staff and students can make a nomination for any of the following three categories: Student Voice, Inspirational Individual, Positive Impact. Please see below a selection of photos from this year’s awards dinner which took place on 16th April 2024.
